I am in Sydney now and feel deeply sorry for the sad news about your father. Here I am just want to send my condolences to you. I DO miss him, you can imaging that after Professor Ding's passing away, I get stronger sense to wish your father and Professor Liu Xuyi to live longer. Like Professor Liu and Professor Ding, your father has a so high reputation among our academic community in American history studies that everybody respects him. I benefitted very much not only from reading his works, but also from personal contact with him. My feeling at this moment is beyond my expression. But I believe that he will be highly regarded in another world.
